•Just a little progress post; because I really think it’s important to celebrate the small wins along your journey! Back in January of 2022, I ran in a 10K while on vacation at Disney. I wanted to quit at every mile and felt horribly out of shape. I hadn’t run (or truthfully, even worked out) in about a year and boy, could I tell! I finished with a 5K split of 26:56 and was proud of myself for finishing - but the competitor in me knew I needed to get to work. Over the following months I dug deep and started showing up for myself. Instead of hopping on the treadmill and doing the same damn thing day after day, I sought out a running coach @heymickeyman). This component has probably been the most crucial for improvement over this period; pushing me and challenging me at times more than I thought possible. I started dialing in my fueling (and that includes discovering my favorite @prerunnutrition to use before runs). Started strength training 2-3 times/week. Proper stretching. Warming up. Better sleep. All of the little things that we hear about and while on their own, might seem like not the biggest of things, right? But when you put them together and mix it with consistency - boy, does it have some powerful results. I was really hesitant to share this all. I still struggle to call myself a runner - I have no track or cross country background. Just a former athlete who likes to push my body to new limits. But I do think sharing along the way and celebrating small wins is vital. So here we go, friends. I can’t wait to see what the next 6 months bring - because the last 6 sure have been fun. 🏃♀️🙌🏻 •

Day 8 | Woke up to sky full of lightning and had to adjust the 5 mile run outdoors to a 5 mile run on the @nordictrack treadmill.
